Wet Test & Dry Test
You can see from the video, our digital underwater camera was tested by a water pressure tester. Waterproof tester is specialized equipment we use for waterproof testing in the E-Sky factory. The operation process is not complicated. First of all, make sure the battery lock of the camera has tightly fixed. Then fill the chamber with water up to the guidance line. After putting the camera into the chamber, the tester set up the program to simulate the water pressure. Since our camera waterproof rating is IP66, up to 3 meters depth of water. It is hard to find a 3 meters pool for a camera test. So this wet tester is very helpful for revealing some fundamental failing of camera water seals.
If products are sealing not tight enough, water is likely to get into the camera and cause different levels of damage. Like the below image, if you see bubbles coming out after the camera being submerged in water which means it is defective.
After the test is finished, we will carefully check the camera again. If the water is seen inside the lens or screen, which means water leakage. We can pick it out as a defective product and send them to repair and double test or be the disposal of.
These waterproof action cameras which survive testing will have Dry Up process. Then, we install a battery and sd card for performance checking. If the outdoor camera can be normally power on and operate. It is proved as a qualified product. Or it is defective.
We got another testing method called dry test which means water isn’t involved. It is carried out by a special machine which can calculate the airtightness of a camera. Well, you can consider it as a leakage rate. The precise compressed air is input into the test product, and the leakage value of the product is measured by the high-precision pressure sensor. The leakage value is supposed to be within a rough range. Leakage value within the technical range is qualified; If the leakage value is out of the range mean product is unqualified. Judgment results with LED red ( unqualified）, green indicator （ qualified) light display, the user of the product is good and times at a glance. This tester is highly efficient as it can test multiple products at one time, suitable for production line use.
